Among other things, Bosch uses AR applications in training courses on complex repair tasks on vehicles. For example, there is special AR training to readjust the sensors of driver assistance systems after the windscreen has been replaced. Here, for example, it is important to be able to see the entire vehicle. The new Hololens 2 offers a much wider field of view than previous products. This shows more details and allows larger objects to be viewed more closely. The wearing comfort of the Hololens 2 has also been significantly improved.

Nurses at Maxima MC (MMC) can, thanks to a collaboration with ASML, follow a realistic scenario training of a corona patient with using Mixed Reality. Wearing special glasses with HoloPatient software makes the patient appear lifelike in the nurse's room. MMC prepares nurses with this for the treatment of corona patients in hospital. MMC is the first hospital in the Netherlands to offer nurses this innovative training form with to a corona patient.

From September 2021, students of the ROC Mondriaan can follow a resuscitation course in Augmented Reality at school. with the CPR+ app from Velicus and the Hololens 2 on the head teach students CPR with a defibrillator (AED) and the recovery position is also discussed. with The mixed reality CPR course allows students to learn to resuscitate, practice and test independently of time and place. This can all be done in modules and without compromising on quality. Velicus's resuscitation course meets all requirements and is officially certified by Het Oranje Kruis.

The Leuven Museum (M Leuven) is a beautiful museum within the Sint-Pieterskerk in Belgium. In addition to a physical tour, it is possible to book a mixed reality tour in the church. You get a Microsoft HoloLens 2 and with the AR headset you take a tour through the museum and look at different images and objects. For example, it is possible to look at an age-old painting through the glasses, and see it come to life before your eyes.

Conclusion

Augmented Reality can be applied in many more different ways than you might think at first glance. The above examples clearly show that AR can be used in different fields. Training and supervising staff currently seems to be the most used application of the Hololens 2, but who knows, we may see many more special and innovative ways in which Augmented Reality can be used in the future.
